Sex Therapy

What Sex Therapy Can Do For You

Many have never heard of sex therapy. Yet so many people experience issues related to sex and sexuality that go unaddressed, in isolation for far too long.

However, when people try to address their sexual challenges, if they do not have professional support, they can find themselves getting stuck in their old patterns or unintentionally create more suffering.  Sexuality is complex, and the factors contributing to the development and persistence of our sexual problems can operate outside of our conscious awareness.

Sex therapy looks a lot like a standard talk therapy session, except there is an explicit focus on discussing themes of sex and sexuality in your life.

Here are some of the concerns that a trained sex therapist can help with

Sex that feels unfulfilling, impulsive or disconnected from yourself and/or your partner(s).

Loving your long-term partner, but rarely or never feeling that raw desire you felt at the start of your relationship.

Pelvic pain or erectile problems.

Noticing a change in your desire for sex, whether you want it more or less than you used to.

New moms who feel like their sexuality disappeared when the baby arrived.

Having little or no experience with safely and mindfully incorporating BSDM into your sex life.

Feeling confused, ashamed, embarrassed, or even excited and intrigued about some of your fantasies, preferences, kinks, BDSM practices, or participation in alternative relationship structures or lifestyles.

Embracing changes in your sexuality in light of pregnancy, childbirth, gender transitions, gender-affirming medical care, menopause, aging, chronic illnesses/pain, and cancer treatment.

Engaging in sexual behaviors you wish you didn’t.

I love to help unburden people from  unnecessary guilt, shame and emotional suffering related to sex, sexuality and erotic life.
